Seeking intrepid travel writers and photographers!
This is a call-out for contributions to Go, a website aimed at representing young people’s real experiences of travel. We are looking for travel writing and photography that is fresh, original and totally inspiring.
If you have a great idea and it will fit into one of the following sections, then send us your contribution! Feel free to send us a pitch by Friday 15th June 2009 before writing the full article (between 400-800 words), to ensure that you’re on the right track. We will be publishing new content in July.
Red letter days – a real-life, personal travel story that embodies the reason why we travel – to have amazing, unforgettable experiences
Windows Into the World – snapshots of shop front windows from around the world
At My Local – a Q&A with someone at their local drinking hole
When I Was Last In – a portrait-style interview with creative types who travel as part of their work
Features - We’re seeking content that falls under one of the following categories:
Places: Stories that introduce readers to new places; places that are amazing, happening, out-of-the-way, beautiful, off the beaten track… or original takes on well-known destinations
Issues: Stories that examine what issues are affecting, influencing or inspiring young people’s travel experiences
Services: Practical stories designed to help readers make the most of the challenges and opportunities that will come up while travelling
Creative writing – this includes fiction pieces as well as poetry.
Reviews – blog reviews, travel articles in the press and reviews on practical and cultural travel-related products
All text submissions should have an accompanying image. Please submit a caption with your image. When sending photographs, please ensure that it is saved as a web image – JPG file, RGB colour mode, 72 dpi.
(Open the image in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. From the Picture menu, select Resize. Choose “Pre-defined width x height” and select “Web image – Large”. Save the image.)
